Tabernacle Calvinistic Methodist Church - Porthmadog (1905)

If Portmadoc a month ago was icy in its relation to the revival influence, the town is now aflame with the spirit. The thaw came with great suddenness and the prayer meetings in the latter part of last week and on Sunday were marked by intensely dramatic scenes. At each of the Nonconformist chapels there have been prayers which have roused the crowded congregations into a state of extraordinary fervour, which breaks out one moment into sobs of remorse and anguish, and the next into cries of joy… Many there were even of members who scoffed at the idea of revival scenes in reserved Portmadoc, but they scoff no longer.
