The meetings commenced in Footdee continued nightly without intermission for two whole years, during which time Mr Ross was helped by such goidly and earnest men as John Chrystal, James Dewar, and Robert Annand, and by several of the city ministers. Aberdeen had, in 1858, passed through a deep spiritual revival, and there were a number of earnest preachers there. Few, however, were converted during the latter half of 1861. But, early in 1862, there was another remarkable and gracious and far more reaching moving of the Spirit of God among the fisher people. More excitement prevailed than in the previous year's work, and there was probably a greater proportion of "stubble."
