York Free Methodist Church (1878)

Special services have been held in the Free Methodist Church, Monk Bar, York, by Miss Wales and Mrs. Holland, of London,
with much success. A correspondent, writing on April 12, says:- The Holy Spirit was manifestly in every meeting. Very many who before were careless and indifferent about salvation were led to embrace Jesus as their Saviour. Believers were stirred up and quickened to greater earnestness in the service of Christ. A large blessing cannot but be the result to many from the sound, simple, and earnest way in which the great truths of the Gospel have been put before them. The two evangelists, although suffering in body from hard work, are now gone to Hibaldstow and Gainsborough, in Lincolnshire, again to unfurl
the banner of the cross.
