Dalry (1860)

The excitement was immense. There were a number of striking cases of prostrations, thorough convictions and most remarkable conversions to God. At one meeting which was filled to overflowing, upwards of 50 remained at the close, some of whom were sobbing and crying aloud, while many others hung around the doors. One woman wrestled with God day and night, both herself and her family, in a peat-house, which became her prayer closet. Bye and bye she observed something wrong with her husband. He told her his state of mind, and for the first time during the 20 years of their married life they knelt down together at the Throne of Grace.
