Dreghorn (1859)



'The revival was "begun in Ayrshire through the preaching of Mr Sellars, a Free Church student, and within a few weeks made itself felt in every part of the country. Guthrie's Robertson of Irvine, page 155.

"multitudes have suddenly and simultaneously become anxious about their state. . . . Meetings are held in the town every evening and are filled to overflowing. All sectarianism is forgotten." At the beginning of the following month, crowds of fifteen thousand persons assembled in the fields at Dreghorn to hear the gospel preached.
