Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church (1874)

With grateful delight I record the progress of the Lord's work in this district. The Holy Spirit has come in soul-stirring and in soul converting power. The central point of this awakening may be taken as Mr Workman's Church, Newtownbreda, but the holy influence is extending and deeply felt in the surrounding neighbourhoods of Castlereagh and Carryduff... Immediately on the departure of Moody and Sankey, a series of revival meetings were begun in the district. They are joined by Presbyterian, Episcopalian and Methodist. ... Many anxious inquirers remain after the service and Christ seeking souls are pointed by the ministers and other Christian workers to the glorious object of their search.
