Portaferry Methodist Church (1817)

From the county of Down, Mr John Hill writes that prejudice was removed, multitudes attended the services and listened with deep attention, and the blessed effects were most apparent; drunkenness, Sabbath-breaking, and profane swearing being; almost given up, while upwards of one hundred persons had been received into the Society. In the district of country between Donaghadee and Portaferry especially, there was an extensive awakening.
