Bangor Abbey (558)

The monastery was founded by Comgall, but there is no trace of the monastery left, however it is likely to be in the area shown by the photo. It was very important to Christianity in the world. It was here that people like Columbanus were trained and then went to spread the word of God, together with miracles, signs and wonders, all over Europe, including Cornwall, Wales and Iona. It was called 'The Light of the World.'
