The revival took place in the Free Church. ‘For the past two years and a half a work of grace has been going on in the congregation under the ordinary preaching of the Word. I have a list of over 100 who have continued to give satisfactory evidence of a real change. Among that number are some very striking cases – cases of men and women who had never been in a place of worship from childhood, and of others who for 15 years and more were drunkards.’ I believe it was part of the Brethren revival that began in Strathaven, and the revival started by James McKendrick in Haughead. They all were around the same time.
