Bath (1779)

A year ago, there was such an awakening here as never had been from the beginning; and, in consequence of it, a swift and large increase in the society. Just then Mr M’Nab, quarrelling with Mr Smyth, threw wildfire among the people, and occasioned anger, jealousies, judging each other, backbiting and tale-bearing without end; and, in spite of all the pains which have been taken, the wound is not healed to this day.

From, John Wesley's Journal, 17th July 1780.

Additional Information
