King's Stanley - Salvation Army

Date: 1882  ·  Place: King's Stanley, Gloucestershire  ·  Type: National well

(Capt Evans) Last Sunday, glorious day, grand procession in the afternoon. Soldiers full of fire, singing,

"We shall conquer all!"

Inside some thrilling testimonies from saved drunkards, gamblers, poachers and sinners of every description. At night place packed to excess. The 'Converted Publican' from Stroud told us how God had dealt with him and how he had been picked up out of the gutter of sin by the Salvation Army. We felt that truly God was with us. Many were convinced of sin. At the close one soul found peace.

From, "The War Cry," page 3, 26th January 1882.

I do not know where the meetings took place.
