(Capt Martha) - Tom Crocker writes:—*| arrived just in time for tea (Monday). The happy faces of ali told a grand tale, that Salvation had come in floods to the town of Barnstaple. After tea we had a march. A large number in the ranks. Streets full. Great commotion. Whilst we sung, "I am a Soldier bound for glory." the roughs kept singing the song, "Over the garden wall" We got more kicks than we asked for. Still on we went in the strength of God, singing the Gospel to every creature. lnside Music Hall full. Roughs noisy. One volunteer out for Salvation. At the close we had a "Hallelujah supper," and went home filled with joy."

From, "The War Cry,' page 3, 12th January 1882.
