Bridgwater - Salvation Army

Date: 1882  ·  Place: Bridgater, Somerset  ·  Type: National well

Here I found a lot of people for the afternoon meeting and it was a most blessed time; people weeping all over the place. About a dozen came out to the form. One woman prayed, and said, "Oh Lord| have mercy on me. I never bent my knees in prayer to God in my life til last night. My husband got saved on Sunday, and I want the Lord to save me, so that we can go to Heaven together." And, God did set her free. Hallelujah!

At night, the Rink was crowded; God moved upon the people, and thirteen sought the Lord, The testimonies were good, Several spoke of only being saved a few days, and they were testimonies. God bless Bridgwater!

(Capt. Louisa Bourne). — We had a grand day on Sunday outside and inside. The Spirit of God was working mightily on the hearts of the people. Men and women, of the deepest dye, wept their way to the open fountain, In the afternoon, while singing

"Who'll be the next to follow Jesus,"

a man rose from his seat, and said—"I will." He fell at the feet of Jesus, and the Lord set him free. He said to the people, "You all know me, 'Drunken Harry,' but the Lord has saved me." At night, while the speaking was going on, people were weeping, and at the close of the day fiteen, husbands and mothers and children, wept their way to Jesus.

We are making headway here. Glory be to God! The devil tries to upset us, but God is saving some of the worst sinners. Sunday was a glorious day. God was with us in power all day and at the cose 8 souls fell into the Fountain. Our brass band is a great help to us. Since we have been here 200 have found the Saviour and are now true soldiers for Jesus.
