On Sunday morning, about seventy came out for a Baptism of Power. Wonderful time. Stuart Hall was well attended. The marching of three Corps with three flags proved a great attraction. Cardiff and the other Corps were well represented. Good collections and thirteen souls.

CARDIFF III
(Canton) Captain Foot.-The "Converted Publican" told us on Sunday that he had stopped the beer-tap from running; he hoped all the publicans would do the same. He was determined to try and persuade them to do so. Mr Billups too was there, and he assisted in the capture of ten prisoners. The biggest sinner and worst drunkard in Canton has been brought to the Saviour. Some of his "old pals " are going to burn his effigy, but he said, "That won't frighten me." He says he means sticking, as he never knew what a happy home was till he joined The Army. At one of our meetings, one brother, with six others, at the Mercy-seat, said, "Oh, Lord, I have had a good religious training, but the accursed drink. Lord forgive me! too full to say more."
From, "The War Cry," page 3, 9th March 1882.
The Hall was used solely by the Salvation Army from 1894 until it was demolished in 1965. It was approximately where indicated.
