Crediton - Salvation Army

Date: 1882  ·  Place: Crediton, Devon  ·  Type: National well

Lieut C. Hartnoll writes, "The past week has been one of great blessing in this sin-blighted town of Crediton. Good meetings. conviction all over the place. Tears were streaming down the faces of men and women, as they listened to the story of the Cross; but, best of all, souls have come out for Salvation. Praise the Lord Many have left the devil's ranks, and are determined to begin the new year with Jesus as their Saviour. A man who had been, to use his own words, as miserable as he could live, on Sunday night, yielded to the strivings of the Spirit. He left the meeting just before the close, but the Lord so laid hold of him that he was obliged to come back and fall down at the mercy-seat.

From, "The War Cry," page 3, 19th January 1882.

I do not know where the meetings were held.
