A major revval was in Lewis in 1939. Shader is in the parish of Barvas, and the Free Church minister was very anti the revival. He told the caretaker of the church in Shader not to allow anyone in except himself. On one occasion someone crawled through an open window and opened the church up.
The revival also touched High Borve down the road.
