Eccles - Salvation Army

Sunday was a red-letter day, our soldiers say the best we have had yet. Although the rain poured and the wind blew our Barracks were crowded. Four souls sought Salvation in the afternoon and eight at night, making over 30 for the week. We finished with a Hallelujah “fire away” all around, when 85 testified in 20 minutes.

(Capt, Rylance).-Glory be to God, we are still going ahead. Sunday was a blessed day. Although the wind blew, and the rain and snow descended, we had some blessed times. At night, we had a powerful meeting, when fifteen fell at the bleeding feet of Jesus. Wound Up with a "Hallelujah go." amid the singing and shouting, and waving of handkerchiels we feit it was glory in our souls.

(Captain Rylance),--Hallelujah! we are ahead. Sunday was a grand day. Crammed in the morning at seven, over 122 on their knees, pleading for sinners, and forty-seven testimonies before breakfast. Meetings and marches grand throughout the day. Barracks crowded in the afternoon; had to lock the doors and turn some away. At night both Barracks crowded, scores more turned away for want of room. Finished up with twenty-two souls, Hallelujah! More to follow.
