(Capt. Joe Emmerson).- About six weeks ago we besieged this place, and now we have the town in our hands. We have, indeed, had some of the most marvellous conversions ever heard of "Happy Billy," who used to be a terror to the town, told us he had swallowed the bed, bedstead, saucepan, and all the furniture in drink; since he has got saved, he says, instead of kicking his wife downstairs to get the breakfast ready. "Billy" gets up himself, lights the fire, fetches the breakfast, goes to the stairfoot, and shouts, "Sally dear, come on and get your breakfast, it's waiting?"
