Newington Presbyterian Church (1922)

After a weeks rest William moved to Newington Presbyterian Church in the Limestone Road area of Belfast. A history of Newington Presbyterian Church was written by Dr Johnstone in 1926; in this ac­count he recorded his impressions of the evangelist and the mission:

This mission was held in March 1922. On some evenings there were 2,000 people jammed within the church. Aisles, porches, vesti­bules and windows were crammed. At the first Session meeting, held afterwards, it is recorded that, "As far as it was possible to tabulate, the converts of the Mission numbered 1,100...
