Chesterton - Salvation Army (1882)

Thank God, Salvation is the best cure for drunkenness and all kinds of advice. This week has been a blessed time to our souls. We are having some grand marches over the devil's territory and are capturing some of his best men. On Sunday we had good meetings all day. At night about 250 were in the ranks. The streets are lined with people. The Barracks were packed and the hundreds outside. We had a grand meeting; 27 souls for the day, making 117 for the week. Thank God victory is on Israel's side.

From, 'The War Cry', May 1882.

This is just one example of what was happening here. More reports can be seen from the War Cry in future months/years.

Additional Information

I do not know where the meetings were held.
