Bloxwich - Salvation Army

Date: 1881  ·  Type: National well

Since the opening of the station many a soul has been aroused from sin and has come to life and is now living for God. The past week has been a blessed time; souls saved every night. Sunday, good meeting; Hall full at night; many unable to obtain admission. The power of God came down; many felt it; some rejected; others cried and wept their way to the feet of Jesus. 20 came forward, making 54 for the week. We mean to fight and pray on for Bloxwich.

From, 'The War Cry', August 1881.

(Capt. Johnston), - We have had another week of power and victory. On Monday, we had a grand Ham Banquet; about 560 sat down. After-meeting good; about 1,100 people squeezed into the Barracks; a very hot time Hallelujah! Good meetings all the week. On Saturday night, amongst other experiences, one man said, "This is the first Saturday night I have been sober for fourteen years." His wife, who got saved last Sunday as well, attested that this was so; but now they are all very happy at home. All glory be to God! We had a very good day on Sunday, notwithstanding the rain. Our Soldiers came up, and we had the victory and several precious souls.

From, "The War Cry." page 3, 19th January 1882.

I do not know where the meetings were held.
