Blyth - Salvation Army

Date: 1881-1882  ·  Place: Blyth, Northumberland  ·  Type: National well

(Capt, Close) -We are glad to be able to tell you that this Station is doing well. We have been having some grand meetings. On Sunday we began with seven o'clock Knee-drill, had the power of God with us all day, and finished up with six souls for the Master. Praise the Lord, we mean going on, fighting, conquering and rejoicing in our dear Saviour till we see Blyth at His feet!

From, "The War Cry," page 3, 9th February 1882.

(Capt Close).—Thank God, this Station was never better than it is at present. During the week one who had been brought up at church by pious parents, and had been a Sunday-school teacher, but had never realized his sins forgiven, came to God as a humble penitent last Thursday, it was a hard struggle and God gave him the victory, and he could then get up and testify that he was born again Hallelujah! On Sunday we had a glorious day: five souls to the fountain.

From, "The War Cry," page 3, 9th March 1882.

I do not know where the meetings were held.
