Girvan

Date: 1885  ·  Place: Girvan, South Ayrshire  ·  Type: Local well

Fishermen from Argyllshire were gathered in Girvan for the herring season. The Campbeltown fishermen seemed to sense that the Lord wanted to do something, so they called for their missionary. The presence of God soon came once meetings began. There were storms every day for two weeks, so they had meetings each day. Around 200 came to the Lord, but none of the local men. Some of the fishermen took the revival home with them. Lochgilphead is one place where the revival caught hold.

For more information see, ‘Glory in the Glen,’ by Tom Lennie published by Christian Focus Publications, p44-5.

I do not know the church where the meetings took place.
