Wednesbury Primitive Methodist Chapel (1863)

In the latter part of September last, Mr S C Jeffcock, an evangelist from London, better known as the “converted engine driver,” who was going on to Liverpool, came here and the Lord wonderfully blessed his visit and made him instrumental in the salvation of many precious souls. The first evening he came a prayer meeting was held in my house and three poor sinners were made happy. On the Sunday following, he was invited to preach in a Chapel near Darlaston and though the rain descended in torrents, the place was filled and several stepped into the glorious liberty of the children of God. On the next evening he held a meeting in the primitive Methodist Chapel, Wednesbury and eight were born again and many have since found peace from the meeting.
