Little Dean (1864)

A series of revival meetings were held at the Independent Chapels in Little Dean and Pape's Hill on March 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th by Mr Opie Rodway of Stroud. The meetings were well attended and many persons (chiefly young) were awakened to a sense of their guilt and danger, and hare sought mercy at the feet of Jesus. Prayer meetings have since been held on every evening and have been attended with gratifying results. On Sunday, April 10th, the Rev. R. Stephens, M.A., of Coleford, preached two thrilling sermons at Little Dean; at the conclusion of the evening service, he administered the ordinance of the Lord's Supper, and admitted nineteen persons into church fellowship. But this is not all; there are many more deeply impressed, whom we hope, ere long, to see gathered into the sheep-fold of Christ.
