Lincolnshire (1745)

I should have mentioned before, the work at Hull, York, Pocklington, Rotherham, Sheffield, and scores of other towns and villages in this Riding, which is very considerable, and has been for some years. The work flourishes greatly in various parts of Lincolnshire, but these parts lie so far from me, that I cannot give a particular account of it.

From a letter from W Grimshaw to Dr Gillies, July 1754.
