At nearby Garnedd it began one Sunday afternoon in 1829 during the preaching of Cadwaladr Owen, Dolwyddelen. The revival was experienced more powerfully than at Gwytherin. Loud rejoicing was one of the marks of this revival, so much so that the voice of the preacher would frequently be drowned out before he could finish his sermon. As a result of this revival forty-two were added to the small congregation.
