Kirkcaldy

Date: 1860  ·  Place: Kirkcaldy, Fife  ·  Type: National well

It is unnecessary to follow this aspect of the great revival further. Important work was done in Pulteneytown, the suburb of Wick. Later in the Spring the flame was carried to the shores of the Firth of Forth. In March and April it was burning brightly in the fishing villages of Cellardyke and Pittenweem and had extended to Kirkcaldy. On the opposite coast, Newhaven in March, and the Eyemouth fishermen lit the torch at Dunbar whence the light spread to North Berwick and Cockenzie.
