Date: 1841 · Place: Huntly, Aberdeenshire · Type: National well
In August 1841, Murray McCheyne came to Huntly to take the Communion. 'McCheyne was enabled to preach with remarkable power; the impression on the congregational was general and the number of inquirers large.' About 100 waited after the sermon for prayer, many of them in deep anxiety.
From Tom Lennie's, 'Land of Many Revivals', page 400.
I seem to remember there was an outdoor place at Huntly that held large meetings. I have marked a natural-looking 'well' where it may have taken place.
