Penuel Baptist Chapel - Penprysg (1905)

The heavenly breeze has paid the above church an extensive visit. The influence of the heavenly dove is palpable at every meeting. The church has been holding prayer meetings for a period of weeks. The different denominational churches in the neighbourhood have been having united prayer meetings, but over the last three weeks they have been holding their meetings in their own churches, because of the inconvenience to some members who live far away, and it can be said that Heaven is smiling on them. It is almost impossible to bring the meetings to an end before ten o'clock at night, and it can be said, 'It is good to be there, because the Lord is in our midst to bless us.'The greatest blessing is seeing old members, who were not used to take part in anything, now forced to feel that the dumb must speak. This Revival is a spiritual regeneration for the church, and it is a great joy for the Lord's children and people. We are happy to inform you that many who were strong pillars in the service of the devil are today living pillars to God. This month forty-two were baptised, and about 10 others are before the church waiting for the same privilege. Some of the old brothers last Sunday were like Simeon of old, saying now lettest thy servant depart in peace, as they regarded the scene of 61 being received as full members. It was curious to see the difference in age, some of the eldest were getting on for 60 to 70 years old,  and the youngest was aged 11. It was heaven on earth to see these monuments taking the part of Jesus and his cross.42 baptized and 19 from the country of backsliding, making 61.

Additional Information

Mae'r awel nefol wedi talu ymweliad helaeth a'r eglwys uchod. Y mae dylanwad y golomen nefol i'w theimlo yn mhob cyfarfod. Y mae'r eglwys wedi bod yn cadw cyrddau gweddio am yspaid o wythnosau. Mae cyfarfodydd undebol gyda'r eglwysi enwadol ereill y gymmydogaeth, ond y maent y tair wythnos ddiweddaf hyn yn cynnal eu cyfarfodydd yn eu heglwysi eu hunain, o herwydd anghyfleusdra rhai o'r aelodau sydd yn byw yn mhell, ag fe ellir dywedyd fod gwen an y Nefoedd arnynt. Y mae bron yn anmhosibl dibenu y cyfarfodydd cyn deg o'r gloch y nos, ag fe ellir dywedyd, 'Mai da yw bod yno, o herwydd fod yr Arglwydd yn ein plith ag yn ein bendithio.' Y fendith fwyaf yw gweled hen aelodau nad oedd yn cymmeryd rhan mewn dim yn gorfod teimlo yn awr fod yn rhaid i'r mudan siarad. Y mae'r Diwygiad hwn yn adfywiad ysprydol i'r eglwys, ac y mae yn llawenydd mawr i blant a phobl yr Arglwydd. Da genym eich hysbysu fod llawer oedd yn golofnau cryfion yn ngwasanaeth y diafol heddyw yn golofnau byw i Dduw. Y mae dau-a-deugain wedi eu bedyddio yn ystod y mis hwn, a rhyw ddeg arall o flaen yr eglwys yn aros am yr un fraint. Yr oedd rhai o'r hen frodyr y Sul diweddaf fel Simeon gynt, yn dywedyd yr awr hon y gollyngi dy was mewn tangnefedd, pan yn edrych ar yr olygfa o 61 yn cael eu derbyn yn aelodau cyflawn. Golygfa ryfedd oedd gweled y gwahaniaeth yn yr oedran, rhai yn tynu yn mlaen tua 60 i'r 70 mlwydd oed y rhai hynaf, a'r ieuengaf yn 11 oed. Yr oedd yn nefoedd ar y ddaear wrth edrych ar y monuments hyn yn pleidio lesu a'i groes. 42 wedi eu bedyddio a 19 o dir gwrthgiliad, yn gwneyd 61.
