Boston (1861)

On Sunday, June 9, we were visited by Dr and Mrs Palmer, and during their stay of three weeks we have had a gracious work; they pointed out the great need of the church (power with God); they showed its attainment, and then laid it before us so forcibly that many have closed in with Christ, and now experience that the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanseth us from all sin; and under a sense of this, the church is thoroughly stirred up, and the timid and feeble, now strong and bold in the Saviour, are seeking the promotion of God's glory by bringing lost sinners to him. Up to this time, more than 100 have professed to find peace in believing, and have joined themselves with us, besides members of other churches who have been quickened, and others who have experienced. converting grace. The greatest catholicity prevails, and the work is still going on.
